  1. This oil painting is lovely, Lydia,
such beautiful colors and shapes for the flowers and the butterfly. Is it a monarch ?

Wishing you a good continuation of your creative spell,

    Olivia

  2. Hello Olivia,
Thank you! I am glad you like this one. I am going to keep this painting to hang in my bedroom.
The butterfly is a buckeye, but I changed the colors to purple. I reality buckeyes are different shades of browns with some back and a bit of orange in their wings. I kind of did my own thing with it's colors as well as the patterns of the buckeye. I hope you had a wonderful Monday and I also hope Chow Chow enjoyed his day.
    Wishing you a nice evening,
    Lydia

  3. Thank you Lydia,

Chou-Chou is out right now, he loves strolling around at night.

It is artistic liberty to change the colors in a painting. The expressionist Franz Marc painted blue cows, yellow horses and green cats - why not ?

    Blessings

  4. Hello Olivia,
You are right, it's very good to put our own creatity and uniqueness to a painting, by changing it a bit.
I hope your enjoying your day!

  5. Good evening Lydia,

    This buckeye certainly is unique.
The sun is shining here, but it is quite cool again. The tulips are blossoming, though.

    Thank you!
I hope the sun is still shining where you are? It's foggy and raining here.
    Wishing you a wonderful day!
